8-25-07 Kiddie Kamping

I went on a "deep woods" adventure into my backyard last night with my little one. We pitched a tent in the backyard and camped out---complete with roasted marshmallows and s'mores.

Aric loved it. Elliot hung out for the festivities but left for his own comfy bed when it came time for sleeping. Aric was very cozy and was giggling and making soft squealing noises as he was settling into his sleeping bag. We watched the trees blow in the wind outside and I talked in a whispered voice about how the stars were up in the sky and the earth was below us.

He fell asleep with a smile on his face and slept like an angel all night.

I didn't sleep well.

I was cold for one thing.

But I had also prayed that while we were all sleeping so close to Mother Earth (Aric and I in the tent and Elliot in the basement close by) that I get some idea of where our life should go.

I kept waking up uncomfortable and putting my hand on Aric's head.

Then I could drift off again.
