- Sometimes, I think charming people get away with Much too Much for Far too Long.
Just because of their good looks, or sense of humor, or sexy voice (or irritating combination of all of the above plus millions of tiny nuances that make them who they are) we tend to give them leeway for their eccentricities, fears, demands and even the sometimes hurtful things they say.
And they might not even mean it. Maybe they have just been charming so long, and people have been giving them leeway for so long, it just seems natural.
So, how does one know when to call a Charmed One on their stuff and not take it anymore? Do you wait until they mess up Big and Really break your heart someday?
Or do you say "Stop" at the quiet tear that slips out of the corner of your eye---the one you could pretend not to notice if you really tried?
(Hmmmm...realizes a day later that this could apply to me sometimes. Hope my good friends call me on my stuff too. Gently, please. *smiles*)
